The figurine has been carved from the finest shivani wood and is mounted on a solid pedestal of pure rosewood. The deep symbolism, the intricate engraving and detailed filigree work on the idol is derived from an ancient art form, known only to a few skilled practitioners. Vinayaka or Lord Ganesha is worshipped by millions as the Lord of Auspicious Beginnings, Remover of Obstacles, and the God of intellect and wisdom.

The Lord exudes vital energy and divine bliss as he sits on a magnificent throne holding a trishul (trident), mace and a noose(paasha). The Trishul, the weapon of his father Lord Shiva and the mace, represent his ability to vanquish Evil and remove obstacles from the path of success , while the noose binds the Lord to those who cherish Him. His right hand is raised in a mudra of blessing. His trunk is curled around a Lotus flower symbolising wisdom and enlightenment. The Rat (mooshika) is the Lord´s vehicle and represents his ability to tenaciously overcome obstacles.
