The exquisitely carved figurine of the Nataraja is crafted from the finest sandalwood by expert artisans. The sculpture depicts a manifestation of Lord Shiva as Nataraja,the Lord of Dance. Encircled in an aureole of flames symbolising the manifest Universe, Nataraja performs the Tandava Nritya, the dance in which the universe is created, maintained, and resolved.

The Tandava Nataraja lifts his left leg and balances over a demon or dwarf (Apasmara) who symbolizes ignorance. The upper right hand holds a drum (damaru) symbolizing Creation. The upper left hand contains Agni or fire, which signifies destruction. The second right hand is held in the Abhaya mudra signifying fearlessness and bestows protection from both evil and ignorance, while the second left hand points towards the raised foot which signifies upliftment and salvation.
